You have helped my thought process and I appreciate it.ĭxO can do excellent perspective corrections if you buy the optional Viewpoint plug in? I do have ACDsee Photo Studio in which I can make perspective adjustments and do a few other things that compliment DXO.
DXO gives me excellent results so I think I will intermittently try C1 until my trial runs out and most likely just use DXO for the long run. Your thoughts on DXO confirm in my mind how I feel regarding the results I'm getting. Sometimes I try C1 again but, in the end, I almost always prefer the results I got with DXO PL. So I have both, but I'll keep using DXOPL. C1 is clearly also in a top level here but, IMHO, DXO gives me a more pleasing result. And I love DXO noise reduction with Deep Prime and its raw processing. I don't use panoramas and other features that are a plus in C1.
So, if you want more tools, I'd suggest C1.īut I prefer to use a DAM-specific software and have the best quality in raw conversion. It also have panorama and other features that cannot be found in DXO PL.
C1 also have layers support and some mask options that I like so much. C1 is a more polished software, with DAM features that DXOPL doesn't have. Now, with Fuji support by DXOPL, I have both. As I changed from Canon to Fuji sometime ago I had to choose another raw editor, so I bought C1 (I didn't want subscription software like Adobe ones). I've used DXO PL for some time while I was a Canon user. Maybe it doesn't make sense but I like using more than one editing program from time to time, and sometimes one or the other program may be better suited for a particular project. Nevertheless since I have only used it a few days I haven't seen if it is worth having both of these applications.ĭXO is probably enough for my needs however B&H has a sale on Capture One 2022 and is selling it for $179 which is a good discount from $299. There are some things it does that DXO doesn't do (perspective adjustments on buildings or other objects for instance). I am also trialing Capture One 2022 and so far I like using it too. It is a good program for what I need it for. I recently purchased DXO Photolab 5 after my 30 day trial.
